Meigs County’s Ansley Wade hit a clutch 3-pointer from the right wing with 14 seconds left, then tacked on a couple of free throws within a second left to give the Lady Tigers a 46-42 win over Kingsport Dobyns-Bennett.
The victory clinched the final semifinal berth in the Ladies Classic, with Meigs now taking on Oak Ridge Monday night at 8 p.m.
Dobyns-Bennett led the majority of the ball game, but Meigs kept hanging around and got even at 38-38 with 4:03 left. The game see-sawed the rest of the way with Kingsport up 42-41 before Wade knocked down the big shot with 14 seconds to go. Dobyns-Bennett then had a shot blocked at the other end and the Indians grabbed the loose ball to preserve the victory.
Wade scored 11 and Jacelyn Stone and Ella Crowder 10 points each for Meigs County.
Jabrea Johnson led all scorers in the game with 16 for Kingsport.
