Oak Ridge playing in the semifinals of the Ladies Classic is nothing new, and they’ll be back there again in 2019 after taking a 78-52 win over Dacula (Ga.) Saturday night.
The defending tournament champs turned in an impressive performance, getting 28 points from guard Bri Dunbar and 21 more from Khamari Mitchell-Steen. Gracie Hearon pitched in 15.
Dacula’s brilliant sophomore post, Lazaria Spearman, was also impressive, scoring 19 points and hauling in 21 rebounds, the third best rebounding performance in the history of the event. Haneefat Adanijo added 11 for the Falcons.
Oak Ridge led 40-23 at halftime, but Dacula rallied in the third to cut the gap to 10 before Oak Ridge went on a big run to put the game away.
Oak Ridge will play in the 8 p.m. semifinal game on Monday.
