JEFFERSON MOVES TO SEMIS
Last year’s tournament runnerup, Jefferson County’s Lady Patriots, are back in the Ladies’ Classic semifinals, beating Lanier (Ga.) 46-31 Saturday evening.
The Lady Pats (10-3) never trailed in the game. They were up 13-8 after one quarter, and turned to their defense over the next two quarters to thwart Lanier’s offensive plans. The Longhorns managed only two points in the third period.
Makayla Alvey led the winners with 17 points and seven steals. Alexa Gramann was next in line with 11.
The Longhorns got 12 points and six rebounds from Zuriyah Davis.
The Patriots will play in Monday’s first semifinal game at 7 p.m.
