The Upperman High Lady Bees from Baxter, Tn., earned a semifinal berth against Jefferson County Monday night by taking a 55-38 win over the North Greene Lady Huskies.

Upperman, a Class AA power in the mid-state area for a number of years, led 18-11 after one quarter and 28-18 at intermission. The Huskies couldn’t catch up, chopping a 15-point lead down to six at one point but could get no closer. Upperman stretched the lead in the final period.

Reagan Hurst and Torie Brooks shared scoring honors for the Bees with 14 points each while Brooklyn Crouch scored 12. Abigail Johnson yanked off 12 rebounds.

The Huskies responded with 10 points from Emily Britton but no other player hit double digits. Post Brooklyn Anderson, a sophomore, had a nice stat line with six points, 13 rebounds, five assists, four steals and four blocked shots.

The Huskies will play Lanier (Ga.) Monday at 3 p.m.
