MEIGS KNOCKS OFF LADY REBELS
Anna Crowder and Jacelyn Stone each scored 21 points for Meigs County as the Lady Tigers knocked off South Greene 67-48 in a much-anticipated matchup which pitted old rivals from several years ago when both squads were playing for state title honors.
The Rebs made 28 turnovers in the contest, which played a key part in the outcome as the Tigers took advantage in the first period, bolting to a 23-12 lead. It was 35-26 at the half, then Meigs widened the gap with a strong third quarter.
South Greene was further hampered with sickness, with one starter not dressed and some others recovering from flu symptoms.
Kiley Collins scored 10 to lead the Rebs while Jayden Merriweather and Amelia Mullins added nine each.
