The defending champion Oak Ridge Wildcats will play Jefferson County for the second straight year for the Ladies Classic crown after beating Meigs County 69-60 in the second semifinal game Monday night.
Bri Dunbar and Khamari Mitchell-Steen combined for 51 of Oak Ridge’s points. Dunbar scored 29 and Mitchell-Steen knocked down 24 before fouling out late in the contest. Raja Eckles had eight points and eight rebounds. Hope Holt had eight assists.
Meigs County got 18 points from Jacelyn Stone and `12 apiece from Anna Crowder and Jaci Powell. Crowder had nine rebounds and Stone had six assists and four steals.
The game was knotted at 26-26 at halftime before the Wildcats pulled ahead by as many as 14 points in the fourth quarter. Meigs County refused to die quietly and rallied to carve it down to five points, 63-58, and they had a chance to pull closer but made a turnover.
Dunbar and Holt were clutch at the foul line in the final minute, making all six of their attempts.
The championship game will begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Hal Henard Gymnasium.
