The most competitive game of the day turned out to be the final one as Kingsport Dobyns-Bennett took a 41-37 thriller over Parkersburg of West Virginia.
The Lady Reds led 27-26 going into the final quarter and stayed that way much of the final stanza before Kingsport got the advantage in the final minute.
Jabrea Johnson had a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Her free throw with 15 seconds left gave her squad a 38-35 lead, but the Reds Kistin Roberts made two free tosses with 10 seconds to go to close to a point.
Parkersburg had a chance for the final shot to tie with four seconds left. But a dribble off the foot of a Parkersburg player thwarted that effort and Kingsport made two more freebies for the final score.
Aleea Crites had 10 points and nine rebounds for Parkersburg in the closely contested game.
