The girls from the small town of Spring Garden, Ala., took consolation honors in the Ladies Classic, coasting past Spring Valley of West Virginia 81-66.

Led by their high-scoring guard Ace Austin, who poured in 34 points and had 12 rebounds and five assists, the Panthers jumped out to a quick first quarter lead of 22-14 and had the game pretty well in hand with a 47-31 halftime advantage. The West Virginia club could get no closer than 10 points in the second half.

In addition to the 34 points from Austin, Maggie Jarrett dropped in 15, Olivia Law had 11 and Avery Steward added 10. The Panthers made 12 3-pointers in the game.

Spring Valley was led by Brooklyn Ellis with 18 points and Sophie Hutchison with 16.
