Morristown West nipped North Greene 50-45 in the loser’s bracket finals Tuesday morning.

The Trojans and Huskies battled back-and-forth throughout with the lead changing hands numerous times before West took it for keeps at 45-44 on a layup from the middle of the lane by Maddie Simpson with 2:53 left.

West then called time out and forced two straight turnovers on the Huskies, getting a bucket off one of them to go up 47-44. A free throw by NG’s Ella Head closed it to 47-45, but another layup by Simpson boosted the lead to 49-45 with 45 seconds left and the Huskies could not answer.

Delaney Weddington scored 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the Trojans. North Greene got 17 from Loren Blevins, who hit five 3-pointers, and 10 points and 11 rebounds from Hannah Miller.
