(Game 27) Knox Catholic 50, Greeneville 34

Knox Catholic took command just after intermission, going on a 9-1 run over a  four minute span to pull away and beat Greeneville 54-34.

The Irish will move on to play Cocke County Tuesday in the battle for sixth place in the tournament.

Catholic led 29-16 at halftime, but the Devils got quick buckets from Abby Adkins and Julia Woolsey to force the Irish to whistle for a time out. The Knoxville squad immediately calmed down and went on their run, moving to a 40-21 lead and basically put the game away.

The Devils were without starting post Maria Hyde, injured in the Saturday game.

Amaya Redd led the way for the winners with 21 points and 10 rebounds, while Maggie Frana netted 11.

Abby Adkins scored 15 points and hauled in 11 rebounds for GHS. Julia Woolsey hit double digits with 11, but the Devils made only 10-of-49 field goals in the game for 20 percent shooting.
