Chuckey-Doak defeated cross-county rival South Greene 60-49 Monday morning in the loser’s bracket of the Ladies Classic, breaking a long losing skid to the Lady Rebels that dates back to the 2012 season.
The Lady Knights spotted the Rebs a 16-11 first quarter lead, then rallied for 20 points in the second frame to take a 31-25 halftime and they never let their rivals come back in the second half.
Kennedy Brown scored 16 to lead the Black Knights to the victory. Tralyn Southerland scored 12 and Tavyn Southerland added 11. South Greene was led by Kortnei Bailey with a game-high 25 points while Natalie Foshie scored eight. Ari Hoese had nine assists.
