Greeneville went on a 19-0 run in the third quarter to take a 20-point lead over Riverside of South Carolina, then gave most of it back before recovering in time to escape with a 60-54 victory.

Lady Devils post Abby Adkins turned in a 16-point and 17 rebound game to spark the Greeneville girls. Maria Lyde and Kyla Jobe each scored 11.

The big GHS lead in the second half wilted all the way down to two points at 51-49 with 3:12 left in the game, but back-to-back baskets by Adkins followed by a pair of free throws by Jobe with 34 seconds left got the advantage back to six and the Devils held on down the closing seconds.

Riverside got 19 points from Madison Garrido, 15 points and 11 rebounds from Elly Trickett and 10 points from Maddie Bache.
