(Game 11) Knox Webb 60, Greeneville 47

Greeneville High worked hard to get back even at 45-45 with about four minutes left in the game, then saw the Webb Spartans hit three straight 3-pointers to pull away down the stretch and take a 60-47 victory Friday night at Hal Henard.

Webb (12-1) led 28-21 at halftime and 43-38 entering the fourth quarter. But Greeneville’s Kyla Jobe nailed a 3-pointer and Maria Lyde scored from in the paint to close it to 45-43. A missed shot by Webb was followed by a baseline jumper from Jobe that knotted the game at 45-45 with 4:30 left, but the Spartans outscored the Devils 15-2 the rest of the contest to earn the win.

Cailyn Taylor led the scoring for the Spartans with 17 points, and Meeyah Green scored 15 and raked in 11 rebounds. Zahnyah Rockett scored 10 and had five steals.

The Lady Devils got 18 points from Maria Lyde while Jobe tallied 15 and Abby Adkins netted 10.

Webb outrebounded the Devils 34-23 and made only five turnovers in the contest. The Devils had 13 floor errors.
