The Morristown West girls picked up a 59-54 victory over Gaffney, S.C. Wednesday morning.
The Lady Trojans trailed after the first quarter but moved into the lead to stay in the second frame and were up 26-23 at halftime. They were able to maintain the lead in the second half although Gaffney stayed within striking distance the entire way.
Jhaniya Mitchell scored 27 points to lead the way for West. Jocelin Murray netted 12 and Kalyca Dinkins scored 11.
Gaffney was led by Tianah Hopper with 20 points and seven rebounds, Shiriah Harris with 11 and Lauren Mathis with 10.
