Greeneville played Albertville, Ala., and it was a game of runs. Greeneville got the last one, and it was a huge one. A 40-point fourth quarter moved the Lady Devils to an 80-72 win over the Aggies.
The Devils were way behind and in trouble, trailing 64-46 with just under five minutes left in the game. Suddenly they caught fire and began scoring in rapid succession, the big Albertville lead melted, and GHS gets to play on the final day of the tournament in a battle for fifth place.
Brylee Tullock, Julia Woolsey and Maria Lyde led the big fourth quarter rally. Tullock finished with 35 points, a perfect 13-of-13 from the foul line, 12 rebounds and eight assists. She scored 22 points in the final period. Lyde scored 21, and Woolsey kept coming up bigger than her frame with offensive rebounds and finished with 14 points.
Lani Smallwood scored 33 points for the Aggies while Mylie Butler had 13 points and nine rebounds, and Whitley Booker added 12.
