The Cherokee Lady Chiefs, who lost their first two games of the tournament by two points each, picked up a victory Tuesday morning, outdistancing Chuckey-Doak 64-36.
The Chiefs had no trouble despite being without two starters, Kenady Deal and Addie Lawson, both sitting out due to injuries sustained earlier in the tourney. The winners had the game well in hand with a 43-22 halftime advantage.
Freshman Rylee Sivert led Cherokee with 24 points and nine rebounds while Elizabeth Coward added 14. Carlene Bishop scored 16 and Jayden Myers had 13 for the Lady Knights.
