Cocke County’s Lady Red coasted past Chuckey-Doak 74-24 in the third game of opening day at the Ladies Classic.
The Lady Red (13-2) found their footing near the end of the first quarter and completely controlled the game from that point on. From a 19-11 first quarter lead, they improved to a 37-14 spread by intermission.
Ellie Proffitt scored 13 points and Ava Wheeler netted 12 to lead the ladies from Newport. Karmine Carmichael had nine points and nine rebounds.
Chuckey-Doak didn’t have any double digit scorers but Jayden Myers and Chloe Kirkpatrick scored seven points apiece.
