The Greeneville High Lady Devils have made it to the tournament semifinals in impressive fashion, knocking off South Laurel of Kentucky 74-55 in quarterfinals Wednesday.

Greeneville will take on Upperman in the semis Thursday night at 7:30.

The Lady Devils aggravated South Laurel with their tough defensive pressure, forcing 26 turnovers, and they took advantage of 24 fouls called against the opponents which resulted in a 23-of-30 effort from the free throw line.

It was 16-12 after one quarter and 29-21 at the half, but Greeneville began to expand the lead gradually throughout the second half.

Five Lady Devils hit double figures in scoring, led by Lauren Bailey with 24 points, nine rebounds and four assists. Delana DeBusk scored 14 while Lindy Carter, Chloe Marsh and Anna Shaw each had 10 points.

Clara Collins scored 21 points and Rachel Presly added 16 to provide the bulk of the South Laurel offense.
