(Game 1) Daniel Boone 72, Chuckey-Doak 59
Boston College commit Andrea Flores pumped in 27 points as the Daniel Boone Lady Blazers defeated Chuckey-Doak 72-59 in the tournament opener.
Flores hit five 3-pointers and yanked down nine rebounds while also coming up with five steals. Teammate Lillie Walters finished with 15 points as the Blazers improved to 7-5 on the year. The Blazers netted 13 3-pointers in the contest.
Chuckey-Doak got a nice 18 point effort from Kennedy Brown and Tavyn Southerland chipped in with 15 points and six rebounds.
It appeared early as this would be over quickly as Boone jumped out to a quick 10-0 lead in the opening three minutes. But the Lady Knights (3-7) had other plans as they reeled off a 9-0 run to get back in it.
The second quarter was the downfall for the Knights as they were outscored 26-14 and went to the locker room at halftime down 43-25. But just as bad as things went in the second frame, the Knights showed good things in the third to cut the gap to 56-44 by the horn. They eventually had it down to single digits in the fourth before Boone was able to close it out.
