Upperman’s Lady Bees got off to a good start and knocked off Oak Ridge 50-35 in one of the two loser’s bracket finals Saturday.

After getting knocked off in the first round by Cocke County, Upperman recovered to get some wins in the loser’s bracket, culminating it with the victory over the Lady Wildcats, who were also bumped into the loser’s bracket in the first round by North Greene.

The Bees took off to a 14-5 first quarter lead and never looked back, improving the margin to 30-16 by intermission.

Upperman was paced by Taylor Dolente with 16 points and Gracie Butler added 11.  Ayana Porter’s 12 points led Oak Ridge.
