Oak Ridge advanced with a 64-40 win over West Greene in the first game of Thursday’s Day 3 of the Ladies Classic.
The Lady Buffs gave a good showing by trailing 15-11 after one quarter, but the Lady Wildcats began to pull away with a 24-10 run in the second frame.
Ayanna Porter led Oak Ridge with 22 points, six assists, six rebounds and four steals. Jenna Johnson netted 13 in a supporting role.
West Greene got a 20-point performance from Morgan Brown, while freshman Joie Shipley hit double figures with 10 points, 14 rebounds and four blocked shots. She also came up with eight steals.
Oak Ridge will now play Upperman in the Saturday morning 9:30 a.m. contest. West Greene will play Elizabethton Friday at 9 a.m.
