The Marist Lady War Eagles from Atlanta captured the 2023 Andrew Johnson Bank Ladies Classic championship Saturday night with a 43-31 win over Jackson Southside of Tennessee.

The Eagles, led by tournament most valuable offensive player Kate Harpring, was up by a single point at 17-16 at intermission, but they turned in a tremendous effort in the second half, outscoring the Hawks 18-3 in the third canto to take control of the ball game.

Harpring, one of the country’s hottest college prospects, scored 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead her team. She had able assistance from Abby Lindsay with 12 points and eight boards while Hannah Faklaris scored eight.

Jackson got 12 points from Kimora Currie, who was the tournament’s defensive MVP. Jaidynn Askins sored 11.
